In the official Subnautica trailer it showed the Degasi ship crashing on 4546B, yet at the end of the trailer you see the Aurora crash in a different spot.. The degasi is not an Alterra ship. It was owned by the Torgal corporation. Which Paul Torgal is the head of. It's his own ship, so of course he could scavenge it.

It's entirely possible that the Degasi survivors were lucky enough to land in the Crater whereas most of their ship sank in the void. It's probable this is what happened to a majority of the lifepods from the Aurora as well. The Degasi was also a smaller ship and may have been simply obliterated.

So the Degasi can't be that much of a huge ship at all. At leats the Arora looks like it would house more people than that. Also indicated by the number of Escape pods which goes up at leats until No. 19 so far. At this point I think, most parts of the degasi may be salvaged away.
